Community Garden Project 2009

During these tough economic times, a small group felt that a community garden could be used as an outreach ministry, which could directly impact the immediate neighborhood of Haven as well as church members. A plot was selected in the Southeast side of the church building as a good location for growing produce and also an inviting area for the neighbors to gather.

The group is trying to keep the garden expenses low in keeping with the spirit of the project, but there are some costs involved in getting this new ministry started ie: cages, plants, seeds etc. If you have a heart for the Haven community and gardening, any assistance in planting, weeding, and upkeep would be greatly appreciated. Or, if you have supplies or funds to donate, that would be appreciated as well.   On April 18, ground was broken for this new ministry! Join us for a neighborhood prayer walk to ask for blessing on May 13 at 7:00 pm.

Please pray for this ministry that it will help build relationships as well as provide healthy produce, which is intended for the use of Haven’s neighbors as well as those who attend Haven Church.
