The Haven "GPS" program is a:

as they are able.
-Ministry in which the Haven family uses its gifts to serve those with different needs.
-Ministry to include all God’s children within the Haven family of faith and worship. |

Mission Statement
“To help all God’s children be accepted, secure and significant within the family of Haven. This ministry seeks to use the gifts of all members, so that we all may be Heaven-bound in our service to each other.”
About The GPS Ministry
The GPS ministry serves children with permanent disabilities and their families. In Helping Hands, it provides respite and mentoring partnerships. In the Education ministry, child profiles and support services seek to integrate each child in church school and other programs. It also promotes parent support activities, promotes awareness of special needs issues within the church, and helps individual members of Haven find ways to use their gifts in service to others.
The Special Needs Coordinator is the bridge between the congregation and persons or families with special needs. This person would be empowered and equipped to knit together children and adults with special needs with group leaders, peers, and the congregation as a whole.
An article in Breaking Barriers describes the beginnings of Haven Church's Special Needs Ministry. This is a newsletter about disability concerns of the Christian Reformed Church. Read this informative article about how others view this program and comments about how Haven members have hearts earnestly desiring to create such a community painted in 1 Corinthians 12.
Helping Hands Program
The Helping Hands program allow church members the opportunity to provide respite care to special needs families. Their goal is "To support families that have children with permanent disabilities through friendship and loving support."
